Who are your favourite gymnasts and why?

Mine have to be Anna Bessonova (she's so expressive and her leaps are just WOW)
Irina Tchachina and Alina Kabaeva (both very unique, have their own style and show great flexibility)
Inna Zhukova, Svetlana Rudalova, Aliya Yussupova...They're all so powerful, neat and graceful.

I don't get to see that much RG coverage here in the US unfortunately, but Alina Kabaeva has been one of my favourites for a long time for the same reasons you mentioned. She has the talents and gifts that make her a great gymnast.

I agree. She finally deserved the gold medal at Patras 2007!!! Her houp routine nearly made me cry...my eyes were so watery because it was so emotional!

Irina was my favourite...and i still find her the most unique and gracefull, a queen of RG...Kabaeva was pretty good too...but something is so fake about her smile that i dont like at all. Bessonova is very good...and finally she deserves to win a gold!

I have always liked Irina Tchachina. Alina Kabaeva was very good, but i always felt that Irina had a certain quality that Alina never could have. I always figured the differences between the two must have been personality and technique. Both are/were briliant gymnasts, yet differed from each other as night and day.

Another gymnast i really like is Olga Kapronova, she often falls over her own feet, and drops her apparatus, and makes silly mistakes. If she can just overcome that, she might be one of the best yet. and her flexibility is just amazing...

Anna Bessonova is the queen at the moment! She truly is RG Royalty at the moment...

I agree. I don't understand why a lot of people dislike Kapranova!! i think she's great. I love her ball routines too. I also love Sessina at the moment, her pirouettes are fantastic and she's very clean/tidy in her routines.

I have to say that i still remain impressed by Almudena Cid Tostada. That she can compete at her age remains incredible. The scores she got never really did represent how good she was... But in the era of Kabaeva and Tchachina, there really wasn't room for anyone else...

Bessonova - Not only is she beautiful, she has such grace, and her leaps are exquisite!
& Tchachina & Kabaeva, they are both amazing gymnasts, and I envy their flexibility.
