I'm officially registered for my summer classes and I am so excited! I went down to the studio today (which is a little more than an hour's drive from my home) and met with the artistic director. I got to meet a few of the other students and take a look at the studio and equipment. Some of the students were in one of the studios preparing for their spring show, so I got to see them playing around on the trapeze, hoop, and silks. I cannot wait! ^_^ I'll be taking two 1.5-hour-long aerial classes and one 1.5-hour-long acrobatics/contortion class a week in addition to my regular daily stretching/conditioning regimen.
I was also really inspired by the story the artistic director told me about her daughter. She decided she wanted to be a contortionist at age 16 and that's how the studio was formed. According to the director, she trained for two years and also trained at Circus Center San Francisco and is now performing professionally. I found it to be a very inspiring story. ^_^
Anyway... yeah I'm super excited, haha.
